STORY TELLING

By being told stories about others, we can better understand ourselves and the world around us. Glimpses of profound wisdom from the past can be found in stories from all over the world. For thousands of years stories have been the world’s very first teaching resource.
Our mentors can use stories to help teach great wisdom but they can also help young women unpick the threads of wisdom that really speak to them through discussion and analysis. In addition stories with positive strong female role models can do much to balance out a culture which can focus more upon masculine heroes. Exploring stories with young women and girls will invite our young women start to explore their own heroes journey.
